I think it would be interesting to make a shirt out of the Ingsoc motto from 1984:

War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.

It'd be for satirical purposes, of course, as well as a subversive method to provoke positive thought (and, of course, to see how many people would entirely miss the point and get completely pissed off about it).
charmingdecption:
That's great. I think I might steal your idea. smile
callie:
oh man, i could see some people in the south getting VERY upset about that shit.

therefore, you should totally do it.

on a sidenote...1984 is a wonderful book. i'm pretty sure it's the only book i willingly read the whole way through in high school.

Having never gotten a bee sting before and being allergic to almost everything (I'm pretty sure including bee stings), getting swarmed by four yellow jackets is very scary (I think it was four, since there are four stings... I only saw two, though). However, it was surprisingly not that bad. The three stings on my arm are just little red dits that I can barely...

Eheheh... I love making my boss get all riled up about stupid crap. So I was wearing a camo bandana, camo pants and my boots (cuffs tucked into the boots all military-stylie) and I walk into work. My boss sees me, stops, inspects my outfit and the conversation goes as follows:

Boss: What the hell are you? In the army?
Me: Enh.
Boss: Because you...

So a few of my ADD ridden friends have recently embarked on a horribly poorly planned 10-day trip to Iceland. Pray for them, they're going to need it.

It seems that, due to scheduling conflicts with work (deli), work (Volunteer Fire Department), training (VFD) and school I can only realistically do at most three of four at any given time. Therefore, because the VFD may...

Got my provisional. w00t. Next step is to save up and get a car of my own. Probably not going to happen soon, but we'll see.

Back at my old job. It's kind of a relief and kind of annoying. At least I don't have to go through training again, since I already know everything I need to know.

Also, while I avoided it for...

So apparently a friend of mine knows an SG up in Pennsylvania. He told me her name, but I blanked somewhere between then and now. It started with an 'M' and I'm pretty sure there was an 'r' somewhere in there, but other than that I don't remember. It's entirely possible that he told me her real name and not her SG name, as well....

Blah... can't sleep. Can't think of anything to do. Tried talking to people on IM, which failed miserably because my ISP sucks. Suggestions of ways to pass time highly welcome at this point. Even if I don't use them immediately I'll keep interesting ones in mind, because this sort of thing happens more than I'd like it to.

Draw. Paint. Write. Do something mentally exhausting or mentally relaxing. Count stars. Write letters you never intend to send. Alphabetize things. Go for a walk. Write emails to old friends... hmm, maybe I have too much time on my hands.

So I've been considering it for a while, but I finally caved and I'm working on breaking my system back into eating meat. I don't have any major qualms with a vegetarian diet, but when I'm out somewhere with really good food I don't want to have to be like "oh shit, can't eat any of this" all the time because it has meat in...

So... the new Audioslave album, eh? My verdict: Chris Cornell = teh suck, Tom Morello = a guitar god.

So this unemployment thing is sucking. I'm not used to having this much free time and I have no idea wtf to do with it. I went out yesterday with the intention of applying for work various places and then finding something to do. Applying for...

Is it possible to be an unemployed workaholic? Good luck finding a job -- I can't imagine it being to hard in Silver Spring.

Hrm... interesting fact. Asthma is a disqualification for service in the Army if you have a prescription inhaler. Fortunately I found that out from an Army recruiter, not a Coast Guard guy. Maybe I can lie to the Coast Guard guy if I end up deciding I want to do that, but save it as an excuse to dodge the draft or other unfavorable military...

Got fired. Whee! It's funny. I hated my old job so much, and did shit to piss people off actually HOPING I'd get fired so I'd have no reason to stay. I stayed there for over a year, and could probably walk in, ask for my job back and walk out employed again if I wanted to. Now that I had found a job I...

Yay! Internet's finally back. It was on the fritz for a week or so and would only let me load Google, if anything. Fucking Starpower is such a crap ISP.

Moving on... uhm... not much going on. Working. Squeezing in socialization when possible. Y'know... the usual.

thank you for your comments. my attitude has changed quite a bit since posting those entries. im not the one to kick the can around on shit for too long, a couple days maybe. but, yeah, things always work out the way theyre supposed to, and i need to learn how to accept these outcomes, regardless of whether or not its in my favor.
