Strange, I never would have thought that you dye your hair. Like you say, it's not that unusual of a color, especially for certain ethnicities.
I dye my hair various shades of red but that's only because my natural hair color is a horrible dark blonde. Now if it stayed the platinum blonde it was when I was little, that would have been okay!

I have not actually read Lolita, but I saw the movie version, which I loved.
