I'm so worn out. I think all the excitement of Tuesday night has just drained me. And I haven't been sleeping particularly well the last couple nights. Er, mornings.
Even with Amelie offline and in bed last night, I still managed to stay up till six this morning. Damn PBS being on all night. I wound up watching a two-hour long show on public defenders in San Francisco. To put it mildly, that looks like a very tough job. I'd watch a show about these people every week, but "courtroom dramas" bore the piss out of me. But most courtroom dramas are overwrought and don't involve real people facing actual prison time. And I've never seen a tv lawyer as interesting as Will Maas.
Okay, that's enough rambling about PBS.
Oh, hey! Amelie's very excited about partying with SGers on New Year's Eve! That makes me happy. It makes her happy, too. And now that my school's thrown another tuition refund my way, I can afford to party! Yayyyyy!

I think the sentense "i just want to be me....only moreso" is just about the neatest thing i've ever read.
---anyway, much of his writing is autobiographical, & consistently excellent & interesting. I brought him up partly because I like to turn people on to great writers & partly because , in his autobiographical work, he'll often touch on his experiences living in NYC as a person who's had a degenerative nerve disease (the term is on the tip of my typewriter--it'll come to me) which has rendered him amost completely blind since he was a teenager. (he's also crazy as a shithouse rat in a rather low-key, avuncular kinda way.)
