Ahhhhhhh!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
The Flaming Lips almost made me cry. It's nearly unreal how excited and crazy I got when they started playing tonight. I honestly almost cried. The woman behind me said she actually DID cry.
They only played about seven songs, which, while disappointing in its brevity, may be all I can stand at once. Seriously. They about blew the fucking roof off the place, and the head off my shoulders. They've been my favorite (currently active) band for a while before now, but seeing them in concert is... is... The Best.
Also, She Don't Use Jelly. What a fucking riot. They're the best band in the world.
AND THEN they rocked the house AGAIN with Beck. They're a pretty potent combination, probably the best collaboration to come along in a while. I honestly could have done without the slower, newer Beck stuff (and didn't expect to hear any of it, let alone most of Sea Change), but the stuff that rocked, well... ROCKED. Get Real Paid, Loser (haha!), Devil's Haircut, Where It's At... I know, I know, I'm not the biggest Beck fan and just about everyone knows those songs, but they did kick some serious ass, and the rockin' songs sounded more like Beck WITH The Flaming Lips, instead of just Beck and some other guys.
Whew, jeez, I think I may be tired.
Now... when are the Lips going on tour again?
