I highly recommend seeing The Wizard of Oz in a genuine old-timey movie theater if you get the chance. It's pretty damned cool. I can't recall the last time I actually sat down and watched the movie, but I both remembered and forgot more than I thought. "If I Were King of the Forest" is probably my favorite part of the movie now; my sister sang that all the damn time when we were kids. That lion's a riot.
I still think I like the books better, though. I mean, it doesn't get much funnier than the Hungry Tiger constantly asking to eat the Pink Pussy.
I ended up going exactly nowhere last night. No one ever called, or returned a call, even just to say, "oh, hey, Mark, there's nothing going on, and it's too late to get started, so just sit at home at your computer. Thanks." Which was fine, anyhow. I spent the last Saturday of my summer vacation on the phone with Amelie. That, at least, was incredible and wonderful.
I don't wanna go back to school. Ever again. I want a job and a place of my own. I want Amelie to not be in Florida. I want to be well-rested.
Me me me. Gimme gimme gimme.
