First off in case you haven't read the first blog I wrote upon my return to the SG website, I work as a security guard at one of the campuses of a local community college. Now the update to my blog from earlier today...I have been offered a promotion to Desk Sgt. at one of the other campuses pending an interview with that campus' Dean. If that goes well, the Dean of the campus will determine my hourly wage (I was told somewhere between $9.50/hr - $10.50/hr, which is a raise of $.50/hr - $1.50/hr). That may not look like much but it's a raise of $1000 - $3000/year, which while it wouldn't get me out of the "low-income bracket; it would still go a long way. I do pretty good when it comes to budgeting my funds. I am super excited, and surprisingly not nervous at all. Worst case scenario, I continue working at the campus I currently work at until a promotion is available there.
Plus I gave an office chair that was going to be put somewhere to collect dust before finally being thrown away a new home. Today has been a really good day. =]
