for the love of our pets...
I try not to watch too much televised news about the hurricane because I tend to get too emotional or turn the tide and become numb (and eventually cynical).
I could not turn away this afternoon when they started showing pictures of floating dogs. Nice...
I've been compiling a list (inside my head) of all the reasons that would keep me from evacuating if Sacramento were predicted to crack off the west coast. I just added my two dogs. How many people would have been able to coordinate travel and lodging if they were bringing along 2 dogs, 3 cats, snakes, whatever...
It's not logical to die for your pet, but love is never logical.
I love my dogs and would have a very very very hard time leaving them here.
Here's a link if you want to know more about the pet situation down in the gulf:
ASPCA - Hurricane Relief for Animals
Here are some puppy pictures. Kimba and Oso, our current dogs are 7 and 8 years old so it's been a long time since I've smelled puppy breath--you know what I'm talking about.
I still can't figure out how to make these bigger on the journal page. You can check out all my dog pics if you'd like.
Looking forward to a nice (quiet) day at work making time and a half. I will probably be studying for exams.
bye
