henry rollins said something i agree with, who needs people when you have records. records never give you shit. records never ask you stupid questions or make inane conversation. when you listen to music you totally live in that moment and all that matters is you and the song and the purity.
everything we listen to is a snapshot of the past. listening to a brand new song on the radio is the same as hearing a ghost. it's a sound from a previous time reaching through to you. lately i've been listening to the first can album alot and it was recorded in late 69/early 70 by a bunch of german hippies and a crazy black american. it sounds just as fresh today as it did back then, if not fresher.
