Hello lovely ladies and gents!

I just got back from NY this morning and I'm extremely exhausted/ excited. My band, The A.K.A.s is in the process of recording our new record with Alex Newport (AtTheDriveIn//MarsVolta//TheMelvins//MeFirst&TheGimmeGimmes//Piebald//TheLocust...) and I finished the drum tracks late last night. It was a great experience, slaving over some hot drums all day and night with an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline from the studio's control room in the background. I played harder than I ever have. It'll take a bit for my body to bounce back from the grueling 12-14 hour rock-a-thons, but it was well worth it. I'm rewarding myself with laying low and relaxing for a few days. Time to chill. I've got a jacuzzi bathtub I rarely use, maybe I should put it to good use. Now all I need is a glass of wine or champagne (or a margarita or martini or a bottle of Jack Daniels...) and a couple scantily clad girls like in a Motley Crue video... or Spinal Tap! haha.

Speaking of shameless 80s rock debauchery... next week I'm going to see VAN HALEN (back with David Lee Roth). I don't know what to expect. Generally I'd avoid this kind of silly spectacle, especially considering the astronomical ticket prices. These revival shows are pretty hit or miss, but I just can't resist a night of admittedly dumb fun and crazy people watching. Maybe it'll be like Heavy Metal Parking Lot!!! We'll see how it compares to the Morrissey show I went to in Atlantic City a couple months ago. Different ends of the spectrum, but legendary nonetheless. I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.
