So this past weekend was busy. Friday i worked an undercover burglary detail from 10pm to 6am. It was cool I got to go to work in plain clothes, we got special radios, and unmarked cars. Unfortunately we didnt get our suspects that night, but the other detail the following night got are bad guys, and burglaries have all but dissappeared
Saturday was terrifying. The day wasnt so bad- me and my lovely lady slept till almost 2 in the afternoon. we left the house around 800pm to head up to the greatest indian resturant on the planet. While im headed down one of the local roads i see this beat to shit old chrysler come flying up my drivers side and almost hit my rear end. so of course i juice it and speed off, switching in front of this guy so he cant try and push me off the road( which i dot see how, i onw the largest cart on the planet). So now im in the inside lane and i slow up a little. This guy floors it and comes up my passenger side. I look over my shoulder and i see him screaming out his window and he has something in his hand- and them my lovely lady turns white and stares blankly ahead and says the scarest words i wish i never ever would have heard her say to me- "he has a gun". I floored it again and took off, cell phone in hand. The douchebag turned right and headed in a different direction. I get dispatch on the phone and chase shitty car down. I get him at an intersection and a supervisor is conveniently parked behind him. two blocks later we have ourselves a little felony stop and douchebag is in the back of a squad car.
My lovely coworkers search the vehicle and find the gun- or might i correct that- a folding tire iron in the passenger seat wrapped in a rag. The guy had held the tir e iron at the bend and wrapped it in a rag. It looked just like a sawed off shotgun. They also found a little crack in the car (suprize suprize!). This guy went to jail.
I cannot begin to explain how scary this was. If i was alone it would have been different. Im trained, i always carry a weapon and im not so worried about myself. But Jacque was in the car. What if it was a real gun and he tried to hurt her. It kept me up all night. She actually handled it better than me. She just told me she felt safe with me and that she new that id take care of her. This really was the first time the reality of what i do kinda set it. What if this wasnt just some random crackhead? What if i took this guy to prison and it was time to get even? scary shit. im just glad shes ok.
I also had a birthday on sunday! im 23, dear god, im 23. I feel old! I found a couple grey hairs the other day. Next you know im gonna go bald, my knees are gonna fall off and my penis is gonna go on a permanent flacid vaction ( well, im sure ive got a while on that one ) It was overal univentful with the exception of a few great friends giving me some best wishes. Honest those are the best gifts of all, people who really care.
Today was interesting. I spend about 2 hours hunting a 17 yo rock monster who liked to steal things. I got real close but he just slipped through my fingers. Oh well, he's bound to show up sometime. much love to all those that remembered me on my b-day- your much appreciated
