holy crap, its been the weekend from hell. I guess its easiest to start with the stats from work this past weekend:
1 burglary
1 bank robbery
1 car accident with heavy injuries ( i got to see someones skull)
1 foot/car pursuit
1 warrant arrest
2 days of gettin completely soaked in the rain
1 car accident of my own
1 herion addict
1 big fat civil mess
1 of the most disgusting homes ive ever been in my life.
Needless to say, we were fuckin slammed. Kinda explains why i havent updated for a little bit
This past weekend started with heavy rain. Around 10 am on friday i went to a call involving a alleged DV battery. When i got on scene i (suprizingly) made contact with a very strung out woman that smelled like she'd been mowing lawns for a week and hadnt showered. She alleged that her common law husband had kicked her so hard she wet herself and stole her money. long story short- both parties were fighting over money so they could buy more herion. We found spoons with powdered heroin on them in the house, needles, stems, and rubber arm bands for pumping up your vains so you can shot up. this was the most disgusting home I think ive been in thus far- and i ve been in some really nasty places. These people had 5 dogs from what i could count, and equal number of stoves- nonw of which worked, junk everywhere, animal feces, mud throughout the house, the air was heavy and damp, mold on the walls, couches, piles of dishs growing fur. It you could imagine a dope house in a slum, this place would fit right in. we came to the conclusion that there wasnt enough evidence to support the battery and that this women was freakin out due to not having her herion. she was going though withdrawl which is really a sad sight- she vomited four times in front of me and began to tremble,
Hours later while I was just gettin ready to eat lunch we got a tone alert and are advised of a burglary to a home in progress, so.... i got to drive 80mph across town in the rain . its crazy in those big crown vics, that thing was all over the place, I got it sideways twice. me and another unit closed in and surrounded our suspect, cuffed him and returned to the scene- to find out that he lived there and that he had lost his key. thank you neighborhood watch so he was released and went on his merry way.
Then there was the armed robbery- apparently a guy walked into the bank, pointed a gun at the teller and quietly asked for 50's. Then he left and vanished. He's still at large.
Saturday afternoon- 1100am a AAA services truck traveling northbound at 55mph vs a tow truck heading southbound at 45 mph. Pyhsics tells us that the force of the impact is actually relative to the combined speed of both vehicles- end result is head on collision at 100mph. The AAA truck hit a puddle of water and lost control, jumped the median into oncoming traffic. Im not gonna get to detailed on this one but there were 3 people in the tow truck ( two children and an adult) and 1 person in the AAA truck. AAA driver was not waring his seatbelt and had a suspended license. i will describe this; the bed of the AAA truck had a locking cover on it and inside were 13 auto batteries, a 2 1/2 floor jack, and some other tools. when the vehicles hit the contents of the bed of the truck ripped off the tailgate and tossed all the items 50yards from the site of impact. The tow truck was carrying a compresser and other tools that also were thrown just as far. the good news was even though it was a horrible crash the kids and tow truck driver had only minor injuries and went home that day. The AAA driver was in critial condition and was in and out of concessness on scene, but came to at the hospital and made it though. He was given a couple tickets .
when i was done with the car accident i rolled though the hood for a bit and noticed a dude handing a brown bag to a girl on the side of the road. i rolled up to check it out and low and behold he had a warrant. He was really cool about it so i just sent him up without any additional charges.
And then all went to shit. While cruising though the hood i spot a guy on a bike run a stop sign. I figure ill stop out with him to see whats up. I turn on my blue lights, pull up next to him and tell him to pull over. ( i didnt use my siren cause the last time i did i scared the guy and he fell off his bike ). The guy looks at me, askes "why" and then peddles off into a vacant lot. So now im in pursuit. run flyin around the block looking for him, cant see him, so i was gonna let it go. I turn off my lights and go back to the vacant lot to see if maybe he was hidin in the bushes to check one more time before i cancel the pursuit. Then the other officer comes on the radio sayin he's got him, with his trainee in the backround screaming. I think there fighting so i hop in my car and back up fast, in attempt to go help.
And then, me being the lucky person that i am, in that 10 f-in second time frame that i stopped in the lot, one of the local drug dealers parks his car behind a bush, left running unoccupied on the wrong side of the road. So my bumper mushes his bumper and I get written up, At least we caught the bad guy.
So then yesterday i got to spend some time back in the woods chasing people on dirtbikes and Atvs on private property. how i didnt get my crown vic stuck in the mud i have no idea, but it was filthy wheni was done.
So that was my weekend, wet, shitty and long. Glad its over and that i have 5 days off this week to relax.
