I'm at my girlfriend's place right now, the one that got accepted to SG. I'm so excited for her, I hope she sends in a set and goes through with it
So how was your day? Well, mine was..interesting to say the least. I had a job interview today and actually got a job But..there's a downside. The lady wants me to work every weekend night starting on Thursdays and ending on Sundays Plus, it's under the table, so she can screw me around and not pay me. Just from the interview I kinda got the feeling that she might be the kind of lady who'd go "Oh, cash flow is low this week, I might not be able to pay you" and since I'm such a pushover, I'd just be okay with it. Plus, she wants me to start this weekend, which means no SGVancouver thing for me I dunno what to do, I really, really, really need the money badly and it's easy work (barista, ice cream serving) but I'm not sure if it's worth the trade off. No stat pay on holidays, and really she has no obligation to pay me. I already said I'd train tommorow (unpaid) but I'm thinking if I change my mind I can call tommorow morning and say "no sorry, I got another job". That seems like an ok thing to do right?
I can just hold out another week, and if nothing better comes up, it's off to cleaning lady type jobs for me. Sucks hard, I absolutely hate to clean, but money is money, right?
*le sigh*
Give me some advice people. Would you ever take an under the table job? How about this job, aside from the actual job itself (the coffee and ice cream aspect I mean) would you do it? It's minimum wage, it means no weekends outings and no SGVan thing. No even booking time off over the summer, oh and I have to pay for parking which'll be about $20 bucks a shift.
Hope you're all having a good start to your week
