I decided to be apply for Suicidegirls long before I was legally aloud to apply so I patiently waited years until I was able to apply. I was 18, didn't have any tattoos, and had never modelled before. Picking my name way interesting. I started off asking friends what they would choose. And asking my boyfriend what he thought would be a good name for me. I considered versions of my legal first name, versions of my legal last name and couldn't reeeeally decide on something that felt right. At the time, I was really into greek and roman myth (still am) and have always loved the Greek story of Persephone/Hades. But the name Persephone was already taken and it wasn't quite right anyway. Persephone's mother is named Demeter. she is the goddess of grain and fertility and the harvest. and that really spoke to me. But I don't particularily like the way that "Demeter" sounds so I turned to Roman myth to Demeter's counterpart - "Ceres" (pronounced "series" or "seer-eez" and it just fit. It worked and actually made me feel excited about the next chapter of my life.
I've really been enjoying reading why other people picked their SG names and I know this isn't the current blog homework but I just thought I'd share anyway! ❤️
& if you haven't seen it, BLUSH shot by @alissa is hangin' in member review and we'd love some extra love on it to boost it up onto the front page! We shot this set during my trip to Portland. It was totally unplanned that Alissa and I would be there at the exact same time and both free to shoot! it was a dream to shoot with her, as I've been an admirier of her work since joining Suicidegirls. Mega thanks to everyone that has already left some love! and mega thanks to those going back for seconds 💕💦
