I love the idea of blog topics. I'm behind on this, but I thought I'd write one anyway.
So, the topic is: Your favorite set and the day you shot it.
I really love each of my sets so much, all for different reasons. Shooting is always a really wonderful time. There's honestly no feeling like it, for me at least. It's exciting, sensual, therapeutic and always really fun!
My first set, End of the Day was shot by @cherry. It is one of my favourite sets, mainly because it was the set that turned me pink. It was the set that opened me up to this incredible community and sisterhood. The day that we shot this set, it was rainy and I arrived at Cherry's place to meet her and @voodou for the first time. We popped the pie into the oven to heat it and did my makeup. The pie that we used was an adorable little store bought one that Cherry picked up. Ordinarily, I would have made the pie from scratch (I adore baking) but because we didn't want to shoot the actual pie making aspect, it was just easier and more time efficient to use a pre-made pie. Before this set, I had never been photographed by anyone nearly as talented as Cherry. I was comfortable but definitely an amateur. She and Voodou were really great and gave me helpful direction and feedback. I suppose we shot for an hour or two and finished off our day by having tea and eating the pie while sitting on Cherry's living room floor.
End of the Day went live on the front page as set of the day on January 5th, 2011 and since then I have shot 5 equally as rad sets for SG.
I may also have another one on the way ;)
What has everyone been up to?
It's snowing here in Vancouver and I'm loving it. Canada won gold in Women's and Men's hockey at the olympics! It's a good day to be a Canadian. Actually, for me, everyday is a good day to be Canadian.
My 22nd birthday is fast approaching (March 7th) and I'm at a loss of how to celebrate. I love my birthday, as I get to see my friends and family and more often then not, I get to have a really lovely meal with said loved ones. I'm not one for clubbing, bar hopping or dancing but I think it would be nice to really celebrate. Does anyone have any suggestions for some unconventional birthday fun? activities such as paint-balling + laser tag are valid, appreciated suggestions.
Want to see what I've been up to?
