I have settled down a bit today so best to move on to a new entry. I feel not anger but chagrin when I depart from the philosophy of Stoicism which has worked for me so far. And I can't believe how anal I was to try to cry and spell check at the same time.
I am appreciating the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice at a much deeper level lately. I feel a great identification with a character who is at the height of his powers and yet is helpless to help his wife escape death, even when he undertakes "bargains" with the gods to save her. It gives me some comfort to reflect on the agelessness of mature love and loss for some reason.
