Ok, so I'm over not being the next American Idol. It was a good experience. I thought I'd make it at least to the Simon, Paula, Randy round, but no go. I am a really good singer (and I'm not one of those idiots who looks in the camera bragging how great they are and then they suck - ask LyloniJade!!!), but I knew I wouldn't make it to even the 2nd round because I heard the round 1 judges turning away some HUGELY talented people. Idiots. Oh well.
The dinner Friday night with the boy and the parents went well - my parents called me later after they left back for Wisconsin to tell me they liked him a lot, and that they were so relieved to see me happy after 4 years of bullcrap. So I was pleased that they approved.
(Like I cared if they didn't, anyway!!!) 
On a sad note: The Packers lost the season opener to da Bears 26-0. Sad, sad display. And on an even worse note, the Vikings won last night 19-16. Yuck.
This weekend is a big Swiss Heritage festival in my home county and I'm 99% sure I'm going. I've never missed it, so it's worth the drive home 350 miles. Lots of cheese and beer and polka!
