Ok, so it's 2 days late, but here's "Weekend Update".
I'm your host, Cecelia.
(And I'm silly.)
SOOO - kiddo and I drove down to the Dells for the weekend to meet my parents at their timeshare. And
LyloniJade drove up from Madison to hang out. Whenever
LyloniJade and I get together, you can bet on a wacky time.
Want proof?
Moving right along....

LJ took a picture of this rad building. It was some sort of an exhibit, but we didn't go in.
Although, we probably should have. It would have been way better than where we went.....

Instead, we ended up going to
Storybook Gardens. My mom thought my son would really enjoy it. Good thing the kid is only 22 months old, so he didn't see what we saw. I've been there before, when I was little, and it was cool then. But it really sucks now. The website makes it sound MUCH, MUCH cooler than it really is. My mom said she remembers even when she was little that it was gorgeous and colorful and full of fun, but she even admitted that it was really poorly run now. Bummer.
Anyhoo.....
If nothing else, at least we got good pictures.
We fed the fish. And then
LyloniJade and I shared their snack. Fish food tastes like Wheat Thins.
Another
LJ classic. And she was totally right. The coachman really does have a hard-on.
REALLY tight squeeze.
And now we get to the sad part of this park:

These monkeys were getting it on.
Yup.
It was really fucking cool to be able to get so close to this giraffe. But the fenced area he was in was SO small for such a large animal. And he had this hut thing he could go in for shelter, but it was smaller than my frickin' bedroom. Pathetic.
And these guys were awesome, they liked to nibble fingers. And they were obviously underfed, as this guy ate part of
LyloniJade's purse.
Cutest "kid" EVER. It hopped around and was so tiny and sweet. We totally wanted to steal him.
He'd probably have a better life with one of us anyway - or at least he'd have room to run. The asshats running this place should be shot. The conditions of the animals' living spaces were sooooo unappealing.
It was even more crappy because of the general maintenance of the park. For instance, they had cans of oil, for using in the kiddie train, just laying around. Duh. And they were tearing up the sidewalks, so you had to walk in piles of sand to get around. And the groundskeeper was on our tails constantly - weedwacking, planting, whatever. And I noticed while riding the shitty kiddie train, that the back fence of the park was just slabs of tin. I'm amazed a kid hasn't snuck back there, gotten out and drown in the swamp just feet away. And it costed $11 per adult to get in. Luckily, my kid is still under 2, so he was free. But $11 to walk around a dump was assinine.
Ok, enough bitching.
We can make fun out of anything, so it wasn't THAT bad, I guess.
And more proof we're lunatics....

I think
LJ needs one of these at her house to hump whenever she feels like it.
I think I'm winning!
Totally senior picture style!
Me and my lil tot.
Then
LyloniJade met her relatives for dinner. (And I'm fucking hilarious.)
Choo choo!!!!!!
After we left the craphole, we took a little trip to the Super Walmart. Fun times.

Wow. Takes talent to drive like that.
I took my little squirt swimming and this was the only picture we took that he was screaming his head off. Mental note to self = bebe does not like swimming.
(You should see the nail marks I have still on my arms from him)
Anyway - that was my weekend.
Not too exciting, but fear not - the fabulous LyloniJade will be visiting me in 3 weeks here in Minneapolis and I can guarantee some good pics from that. Hopefully, they'll include our lovely Wren!
Have a good week, all! Besos!
they can be cute in other ways though. my most recent experience was being told he'd just had his first 'tongues kissing' experience. my first reaction was 'but your only twelve', but my second was 'awww how sweet, my babys growing up'.
