So, supposedly, some mathematician/psychologist guy declared that yesterday was the gloomiest day of the year. He judged this on weather, tax season, debt from the holidays and a few other factors. I think yesterday was fine - normal, like any other day. And obviously, he's not from MN. We had sun yesterday and that's rare. Today, on the other hand, would be the gloomiest. The sky is a weird grayish color and the snow and freezing rain keeps alternating outside. Nothing sticking, but I'm sure the roads will be crap later when I need to go run errands.
On the upside, I cleaned our basement! Since we moved here in June, we've had this ridiculously large clothes pile in our basement, next to a lot of empty shelves. We've just not had the ambition to fold and put these clothes ON the shelves and I had a burst of energy today and did it. Took a few hours, but it's almost done. Yay for me.
In other news:
-I wrote a very official-like letter to my former boss (the chiropractor I was doing marketing for). He refuses to pay me my last paycheck ($140) and so at the advice of my attorney/cousin, I have a letter here that makes it perfectly clear if he doesn't pay up, we're going in for the kill legally. Fuck him.
-I think I'm going to get my cartilage(s) pierced. Does that hurt? I mean, earrings are no biggie, they just sting a second. And I freaked on my way to get my nose done, but that hurt even LESS. I thought maybe since cartilage is harder, it would hurt. Oh well.
-I wish I had the funds to go on a vacation. I need one bad. My parents called the other day from sunny 70 degree Florida and it just made me glum.
-Glum is a very funny word.
-So my cat Andrew that I had from Sept-Nov that ran away came back. Not to stay, but just long enough for a petting and some milk and a few pieces of hot dog. He ran around the house a bit and then since we don't know where's he's been for months, we let him out again. Hopefully he visits again. I miss having a cat, but I just didn't have the $ to keep him and take him to the vet. Bummer.
-We've been having problems with our heat lately - it never gets above 65, and on some occasions, we'll go look at the thermostat and it's as low as 58. NOT COOL. But we had the gas company tech out and he cleaned a few things in the furnace and seet the BTU a bit higher (he said it was very low) and now we're in business! Heat is good.
-Amazing; as I've typed this update journal, the precipitation has no switched for a third time. It's now sleeting. Crazy.
-I really want an SG beater shirt. Broke-ness blows.
That is all. Carry on.
