Things have been interesting in the last couple of weeks. My friend Nathan starting seeing a girl named Rachel, and he introduced her to my friend Mike and myself. Mike's an asshole, so he decided he wanted to have sex with her before Nathan could. Not because he was attracted to her or because he hates Nathan (he actually thinks Nathan is a great guy), but because he was certain he could. His sex drive controls his actions. He'll do just about whatever he can to get sex, and that includes screwing over his friends. As a result, he doesn't have too many. Anyway, Mike and I went down to Bakersfield one night to hang out with Rachel. And, of course, Nathan was there. That definitely looked bad for Mike, and it made the rest of the night very awkward and heavy. Nathan and Rachel had a talk, which ended with her crying as Mike and I drove her home. A few days later, Mike told Rachel that Nathan was using lines on her that he had used on his ex-girlfriend. So, she called the ex-girlfriend, then Nathan talked to the ex-girlfriend, Nathan got upset and apologized to Rachel for reusing lines and saying he loved her when she was just a rebound girl, and she broke up with him. Now Mike is seeing Rachel. Nathan isn't too happy about it, but he seems to be taking it fairly well. I can easily say I would have one less friend after a situation like that.
The last time Mike and I hung out with Rachel, I realized how affectionate she really is. There were two instances when I honestly thought she was going to kiss me. But nothing happened. Of course, that would be horribly awkward, considering that she and Mike are dating now. It's unfortunate because I think I might like her. Maybe it's because she actually talks to me like a guy who has a chance with girls, maybe it's because of her soft warm hugs, or maybe it's just because of her sweet demeanor and good personality. I don't know. At first, I thought she totally wasn't my type, but she becomes more and more like my type. A lot of positive thoughts were destroyed, though when Mike kicked me out of her house at 3:40 AM so they could make out and dry hump for about an hour. He always pulls that shit and it really pisses me off. And it was fucking cold in that car. I should have left his ass. On a lighter note, I finally called Christine. She's a Christian girl who either runs or goes to a youth group, but she doesn't seem too bad. We haven't met yet, but we should meet pretty soon. Also, on the night when everything went sour with Nathan and Rachel, I saw Alicia, an old high school friend. She gave me her number and we made plans to hang out. But it was the wrong number, so our plans fell through. However, she contacted me tonight and gave me the correct number. Unfortunately, she moved back to Irvine, but I'll probably stay at her place for a couple of days after I get my license. And now I'm going to go to bed because I'm tired of rambling.
