**disclaimer** when i refer to "we" in this post, present company is excluded. we're all too smart to fall for this. i just mean people in general, not all of us.
sometimes i'm in the grocery store or similar and i see all the smutty magazines they're selling. there seems to be more and more of them every month. and they get meaner and nastier too. it makes me wonder how many people buy them. have our lives become so boring that we look to the relationship dramas of "celebrities" to entertain us. do we as a society aspire to be more like them? we all want to dress like them, maybe if we get that sassy designer purse our life can be that glamorous too. pfft. if you ask me the only thing some of these so-called singers and actors are good at is manipulating the media and the public. if everyone went out and did something fufilling at least once a week, if they truly experienced something (and not just watched it on tv) maybe we'd have no need for silly tabloid bs anymore. i guess i shouldn't care if i don't read it myself, but it makes me afraid for our society that this is what passes for news and entertainment.
