Had a fitful night; I tried from 1:15 until 4:15 to sleep, but even after a beer, couldn't manage to get tired. I opened my eyes once at 8:30, feeling wide awake-- I scoffed and rolled back over, and slept more soundly. Woke at 12:30 on the tail-end of some odd, sexual dream, feeling hazy; I stripped, showered, shampooed, shaved. At 1:45, I headed down to see A New Brain, a musical being put on by the Blue Masque, the school's theater club; it was pretty good, but I was disapppointed that none of my friends went when they said they would. I'm so tired of seeing plays by myself.
The play ended at 4, and I decided to head up and see what Nolan was doing. He was showering. Conveniently, Steve lives just a few doors down, so I intruded on him for a while, then ran into Nolan on my way out; he was going to dinner, so I went along. We saw Sarah outside; I grabbed her, too. Had dinner. Nolan went away to go do some stuff with other friends; Sarah and I went in search of the DVD player I loaned to some people last night; we went our separate ways; I walked to the little local video store, Doorstep Video, to rent some movies. I picked up a job application-- they need people to work 10-15 hours a week, mostly on weekends. I can do that. The assistant manager was nice.
I called my parents on the way over. They sound good; they just got back from their New Orleans trip (the first time they've been away together since a few months before I was born, and I was technically on that trip--it was at Ocean City, and Mom dug a hole in the sand so she could lie on her stomach with me safely ensconced in the warm and the dark, surrounded by sand on all sides. How reptilian of her; I wonder if I heard the ocean then). On Friday, they're leaving to go see my sister (I think)-- it's the same day I get home on my long weekend, so I'll have the house to myself Friday, Saturday, and most of Sunday. Very excited about that. On Saturday, I'm going to get my hair cut and highlighted-- I want to see how I like sort of a coppery-reddish tinge. If it goes over well, I might go all red by the end of the year.
Sundogs in the sky tonight: fuzzy rainbows on the wingtips of a nebulaic sun. Everything's a haze today.

Sorry I didn't make it to the play yesterday. I would have rather hung out here with you than go off yesterday. It's nice to see my friends, but I hate being stuck somewhere at the mercy of other people's driving ability.
