It is quite a strange style, I think one has to have patience for it and I must admit, at times I was a little bored. I think you if you are into birds then it's easier, someone not familiar with things like bird watching might not enjoy it so much. Even better is Il Gattopardo ;-) but it's up to you if you want to try the peregrine in English.
Oh, I learned the Leo Brouwer piece, it's beautiful. I need lessons in reading guitar music though, I do read and play for the piano but with guitar I've been using tabs and it isn't good for timings and things but it's hard to remembers all the notes on the guitar! Good luck with your convention :-)
I'm very happy to hear about the Brouwer piece; he seriously is an outstanding composer, everything he does seem to have a seamless blend of old and modern, every time I listen to something by him I think of Art Deco architecture and aesthetics, Modigliani paintings and the movie Aelita queen of Mars.
