So, last night...WOW...what a fantastic time. Since I only began listening to Flogging Molly all of a few weeks ago I didn't know the lyrics so I woke up with my voice. I wish I had been singing at the top of my lungs but instead I just jumped around a lot and stood just at the edge of the mosh pit. A couple things about the show, the venue...Vino's...the smallest little hole of a dive bar with (I think it is safe to say) no air conditioning and just a few ceiling fans going. The temp outside was around 85 degrees so inside easily pushing 100!! It was also an all age show so before Flogging Molly took the stage the atmosphere had a little high school dance feel to it.
I downed 4 Guinness before Flogging Molly ever took the stage and once they did, beer was the last thing I wanted...all I wanted was ice and water. It was so fucking hot in there!! Here are some more pics from last night. Check out the folder if you want a few more:
Thanks to the boy on the right...
I have these cool close-up shots of the band:
OOH, this is the hot punk boy with lots 'o arm tattoos and black eyeliner who was the lead singer of the opening band...yeah, I have no idea who they were, but they sounded pretty good and he was much fun to watch on stage
And here are a few more of the SGAR group:

I spent the morning at Heifer International Ranch which is about an hour outside of Little Rock. What an amazing place and organization. We took a tour of about 200 of the 1200 acres, saw a video about a couple families that have benefitted from the work they do and then walked through a barn where all the kids could pet goats and see chickens and rabbits and stuff. As we were walking through the barn it started to rain. I stood listening to the happy sound of rain bouncing off the barn's tin roof. It was a moment that nothing else existed inside of but the sound of the rain and the feel of the breeze that blew through and caressed my cheek. Then the rain stopped, as quickly as it started.
The experience of this morning is still with me this afternoon. I feel the need to do something significant. Today I feel like I'm wasting time.
I received a call from my mentor this afternoon, but didn't speak to him. He is unhappy I have "disappeared" again. The last time we spoke it was to discuss my book and he fears I am doubting my ability again. Damn he knows me well. His help and his encouragement has always been a double edged sword. I'm going to call him back and I'm going to start working on my book while waiting for the whole job thing to sort itself out.
This damn song will not leave my head! URGH!!!! Someone make it stop please...
Just a boy and a girl in a little canoe
and the moon shining all around
As he glides his paddle
you couldn't even hear a sound
and they talked and they talked
til the moon grew dim
He said "You better kiss me or get out and swim"
so watcha gonna do in a little canoe
with the moon shining alla
boat floatin' alla
girl swimmin' all around

Great times, I love it...sweaty and smiling, that's how I like to see my chica.
As for this afternoon...I'm glad that you found some happiness in the smallest of places. A tiny bit of rain to wash your thoughts.
I'll talk to you tonight...AI, baybeee! Shouldn't there be a number we can still vote for constantine? *sigh*
I'm sorry you lost your dog. She was sweet...
Did you wear your purple Docs to the show?
