A new survey suggests that a change of diet can improve mental health, with
88 percent of those studied saying that cutting down on food "stressors" and
increasing intake of food "supporters" helped their mental attitude.
Food "stressors" include sugar, caffeine, alcohol, chocolate,
wheat-containing foods, additives, dairy, and saturated fats. Food
"supporters" include water, vegetables, fruit, oil rich fish, nuts and
seeds, wholegrain food, fiber, protein, and organic food.
Eating regularly and not skipping breakfast were also highlighted as ways to
boost mental health.
