crap...albertson's went to a card program. being 15 blocks away, they are way too convenient not to use, but i just hate those. i haven't set foot in a safeway since they got one.

what an incredibly nice weekend. i laid out on a bench in my backyard with a couple of cats saturday afternoon for nearly an hour and just absorbed the sunshine. such...

I thought of you yesterday when I went to Albertson's, he he.
So I actually do have health insurance now. I don't get it through an employer so I pay $110/mo just for Kaiser medical. Blah! But I'll have to check into allergy testing. That never occured to me! Ooh, if I'm allergic to animals I will cry though. Thanks for the advice!

The King Cometh

[Spoken]
There are those who say that a young boy will grow into an old man in nary the blink of an eye
And there are those who say your hair and fingernails continue to grow long after you die
And well maybe that's true and maybe the...

there was a warmth that filled me. starting not at my heart, but at my center. moving outward. flowing throughout my body. reaching for the battered and worn edges. healing. renewing. the despair was engulfed in light and heat and happiness. the sun returned. the child returned. the day was new and full of hope. struck with awe, i stood there and watched. watched until...

Borsch would be so much better without all of the cabbage and beets.

having bird feeders in the yard for cats is sort of like having a vcr in the living room for children. you just put something in it and it entertains them for hours. besides, they only rarely catch anything. Casper has a little bunker underneath a spruce type tree in which he...

Hmmmm, borsch without the cabbage or the beets...let me know how the ols Russian woman take to the revision on the recipe. I use to love tp watch my childhood cat, Lexie, watch birds...she'd watch them and I'd watch her watch them (Iknow, I was a strange child).

Friday night, muffin tried attacking the raccoon through the kitty door. i had to pull him back through it twice and finally locked it. raccoons are so cute, but they don't belong in the city. Winter Hawks beat Calgary.

Saturday, mowed my lawn. pruned my honeysuckle and camelia bush and ran the clippings through the shredder. put out bird food. finally got back into BGII:ToB....

for lack of anything terribly interesting to say, more Spot 1019 lyrics:

Milkbomb

When you dance like Madonna, you drive all the boys wild
You look like a woman, but you act like a child
All the barbeques burst into flames when you walk down the street
Your purely elastic emotions make living complete

Milkbomb!

Your mama's a taxi...dermist, your daddy a clerk
The airconditioning...

Spot 1019 always makes me smile:

Dinky Dog the Demon Master

On close examination Dinky found a talisman stitched into the lining of his bold, new, used blazer
A tiny ivory dog with a hatchet in it's hand and when he held it up a face appeared before him in the swirling mist
Eyes like pinwheels and a voice like Richard Burton's, deep, resonant and...

well, i'm not sure if melatonin works or not. i think the key is not even touching the SG boards at night. it gets me off of here at a decent time that way. i'm not getting to my computer until 8 or so in the evening. then after checking e-mail and the news i get to SG so late i can't possibly get through...

Staying away from SG after a certain time does help...BUT, melatonin only works if you are trying to sleep after taking it. If you take melatonin and sit up, you might feel tired, but you won't just fall asleep. If you take it and lay down, you're very likely to be able to fall asleep.

That is the beauty of melatonin, it doesn't force sleep on you.

That Terran quote on my journal made me like her a whole lot more. When i downloaded a couple of her songs they sounded a bit too tori-ish for me, but maybe i'll get a cd and try it out anyway.

random Spot 1019 song lyrics:

The Prisoner of Mankind

if he could truly see himself practicing his smile in the mirror he'd probably still have no idea just how ridiculous he looks
as he drags on his cigarette and sucks the smoke on up into his nostrils hanging out in the coffee shop arguing about books
pushed around by his own powerful emotions tried to...

At McMenamin's you must have the ruby ale vinegrette(sp). It is amazing.. Well Litter free might be 300 now, but think of how much you pay a year in clay litter? The price will eventually come down, when the mechanical scoop one first came out it was around that price too, now it's half that at petco...I know alot about cat stuff for someone who doesn't own one anymore (but whan I had him I was a very good mommy!)
