I had the first editorial meeting for the spring issue of my literary magazine yesterday. It went fairly well: we had 130 pieces, and it only took us...4 hours. That's really not that bad. Unfortunately, the numerical rating system we devised to make things simple wasn't implemented correctly, or it was a flawed system, or something...I don't know what's so hard about a scale from 1-5, but 90% of our pieces have averaged somewhere between a 2.5 and a 3.5. That's no good. That doesn't help us at all. I guess that there will be a lot of editor-in-chief discretion when it comes time (on Friday) to make those decisions.
I got over a week and a half's illness recently--I came down with laryngitis and couldn't talk at all. I'm back to (fairly) normal now, though...a bit of a cough left, but it's better than it was.
I think I'm destined not to get together with the guy in my one class that I think is cool. Before spring break, I asked him if he wanted to hang out someitme, and he sounded enthusiastic, but said that week was bad. I missed class all last week, and he wasn't there today...the semester only goes for another few weeks. I'm thinking it's hopeless. Oh well.
Other than that...not much is up.
