Wow, I haven't been around since April. That's, like, 5 months. Shit, I moved to the beach (TWICE), got a new job (well, an old job, but it's new and improved and comes with more money and less bullshit!) , aaaand that's about it.

Today I was listening to Martin Denny's "Exotica" whilst prepping my awesome classroom for the year. We have :
A farmer's market (for the dramatic play area)
A sweet art set-up...nothing fancy, just a wide-open expanse of table and an assortment of materials...go nut, guys...
A space-tacular science center where they get to break their own geodes, build rocketships and do some montessori-type excercises
A soft, super-cozy cushy-mooshy library,
Play mats...this concept will eliminate 80% of classroom fights. They each get a carpet square, and they have to keep the toys they're playing with on their mat. While it's there, no one can touch it. If they want to play with a friend, they put their mats together and all their toys have to stay on the now double-sized mat. See? I saw it work, it's AWESOME.

Friday I'm getting all re-certified at CPR and first aid and all, then I'm babysitting for a friend going through a divorce. She caught him cheating. With three hookers. At the same time. Fucking Lame-O. Three kids and a MILF, why did he have to go to three skeezy tramps? Fuck. Scary to marry.

Saturday I'm going to sit on a symposium with guest speaker, (former) Justice Sandra Day O'Conner. Should be interesting. Saturday night I'm going to see Marilyn Manson and Slayer. First time seeing either for me!! OHHH SHIT I'm so excited.
