Another "How-I-used-to-be-cool" rant.
DUDE, I USED TO BE COOL. It is ridiculous that I've let all whatever life experience that has gone awry change my fundamental essence of being! I used to be rather impulsive and I took everything on. I didn't question how long it would take...I'm so focused on TIME these days, and I've been wasting it horribly. I need to knock myself up the side o' mah leetle wooden 'ead.
When I was thirteen I decided I'd lean French. So I took it five years, went to France, started thinking in French. Neato.
When I was 17 or 18, I watched Moonstruck. I decided I wanted to learn Italian and go to Italy. And I did. I just...did. I didn't really think about it, I just did it. And then I wandered around Western Europe by my damn self for the next month. Like I fuckin' owned it or something. I didn't think about it. I just dealt with shit as it came at me.
Then I decided I wanted to be a roadie for Motley Crue. And I did that...in so many words. I found a partner in crime and we just picked up and left.
Three months, 33 states later, we decided we'd move to Hollywood in one year. And, uh, yeah, we did exactly that. It was in the front of my mind all year. I'd wanted to live in Hollywood since I was three...and had never been there, until we cruised through it on the tour. I was 21.
So six years later I sit here in a quite little neighborhood in a San Diego suburb, thinking how it reminded me of France a little. But not really, so I started thinking about Paris, and how I felt when I was in Paris, and how I could move to Paris and be a teacher, and how to do that I'd need to stick it out here a few more years to get my degree, but I'm not thinking about that because I DON'T NEED TO, I JUST DOOOO EEET. As. it. comes.
I could SO be happy in Paris. I wonder what the ocean creepies are like. I'll have to look that up. When I went in high school we found what looked like a cross between a squid and a jellyfish and Cthullu. That was kinda scary.
I might even fall in love there. I hear fixer-upper chateaus there are pretty cheap these days.
Oh, Par-ree
Je t-aime.
