So, I've been the little girl about town this week...hell, I've had to. If I stay put longer than like 2 hours I enter a parllel universe of agonizing, crushing depression. I want to cry and scream and rip things but I just...can't. It just doesn't seem worth the energy. So I've been distracting myself.
Tuesday I had a date, which went very nicely. The guy loves Oregon, so we had plenty to talk about. He brought me a flower and chocolate. No one has ever done that before. Apparently I pick nothing but losers. Well, except this guy. He's very nice. And smart. A tekky tech. From Bombay. Cute accent.
Wednesday the aquarium hosted a concert and Rock Bottom Brewery came out to sell beer & dindin & carrot cake and it was fun. I worked the tidepools for three hours. It got a little boring, but luckily there were enough of us that we could wander a little, or grab a bite. Next time I'm going not to work, but to relax and have a nice dinner and beer and enjoy the show. It's out on the tidepool plaza, which overlooks La Jolla shores, so the susets are pretty intense.
Last night I went to the Casbah (I luuurve it there...if I had a bar/lounge, that's probably what it would look like) and saw Thee Corsairs and part of The Creepy Creeps show. I had to leave because A) I was stoned and loopy, B) it was getting late, and I had to work first thing in the morning, and C) I was attacked by a Lucha in a fez. Ok, he just tried to get me to dance. But I nearly toppled the sound guys' laptop trying to get away from him. I thought my fear of clowns was subsiding with age and reason, but apparently I'm still not interested in having them anywhere near my body. I know Luchas are not clowns, but it's close enough, cause for alarm and the fight or flight reflex. I flew.
Today I took the baby to the beach in the morning where we watched pelicans, fishermen, and surfers, and played in the sand for a while. All I could think about was how happy I was going to be two Fridays from now when my parents and sister come. They're so fun.
I can't wait.
So what have you been up to kittens? Is anyone here going to Comic-Con? Does anyone want to go with me?
