Oof. My head.
I slept the terrible sleep last night. Stupid scratchy lumpy sheet and nightmares about being tan.
This morning I got up, made coffee, fed the baby, registered for full-time college classes next fall, took the elder to school and gathered infor for a Labor Day trip to Lost Wages Nevada.
Which should be really interesting. I can say I've never *actually* been to Vegas. I've been to the airport scores of times, and I stayed at the Embassy Suites for a night because the airlines fucked up, but I didn't get any further than the Hard Rock Cafe. I've never been to The Strip. So it'll either razzle-dazzle my socks off or social claustrophobia will set in. Either way, it'll be great. I've pretty much decided on parking it poolside with as many free drinks as I can handle while ducking into the casino periodically to slip a quarter in the machine, smoke a ciggy, get another free drink for my efforts and enjoy the air conditioning... and the trapeze artists and Cher and talking monkeys and whatever other twisted sideshows the disembodies Big Giant Heads that orchestrate the Vegas madness dream up for me.
Bright Light City gonna set my soul on fire...
Oh yeah, I really did get set up for more college this morning! *Pat back* I'm going to Palomar College and will be taking 12 units: Child Development (so I have all 12 I need for gainful employment and don't have to beg for a chance to show them I'm actually a better teacher than 95% of them out there...), Oceanography (woooo!), Pre-Algebra (assuming I'm eligable for such high-level thinking...Ah yes, Math. Biology's lesbian sister.), and a painting class on Saturdays.
SO. I'll be working technically 40 hours a week, going to school Monday nights, Tuesday nights, Thursday nights and Saturday afternoons, Wednesday nights I babysit, and Sunday mornings I volunteer at the aquarium.
I got my "family's" clearance to take time off needed for the tour. Now I need them to approve another day for Vegas, AND I have to work out all these days off once again with my professors. Gah. I need to be two people.
Ok, posts three days ago vs. posts the last few days. Anyone else want to jump out on a limb and call me a little manic-depressive?
Hoooo boyyy.
