So.. on Christmas eve I wake up in pain. Go to out-of-hours doctors. Get antibiotics. [Am fine everyone by the way - nothing serious]. But everyone knows Antibiotics = 7 days of sobriety. I.E. no drinking on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day. No drinking on New Years Eve. Couldn't possibly have been better timed. 
My Christmas has been good. Just spent today driving my sister home and then going home myself from my parents house. About 6/7 hours of driving in snow/sludge/darkness after three days of family intensity and i am now ready to collapse.
Am home at my flat, the flatmate's out, everything's quiet and i've unpacked the car of all the presents/crap. I'm going to go to bed now. I want to sleep til new year.
I did love it snowing today though. It was lovely. Feathery.
