This entry feels like Reading Rainbow:
You know how, every once in a while, you'll have a deep conversation about something basic -- the nature of the universe, science, art, music, etc. -- that gives you a whole new perspective on the world?
If you're ever in the mood for that experience, see one of my favorite films, called Mind Walk. It's a conversation between a poet, a physicist and a defeated Presidential candidate, as they stroll through the medieval fortress of Mont Saint Michel. They each express a unique perspective on the meaning of life, and their ideas come together brilliantly.
If you saw Huckabees or What The Bleep Do We Know? then you'll probably dig it. The ideas are enlightening and true to life, without the oddball fantasy elements of Huckabees or Celestine Prophesy. It's kind of slow and moody, but beautifully shot, and the music by Phillip Glass adds an extra layer of depth to the stunning scenery.
Sam Waterston, John Heard and Liv Ullmann are outstanding, and Ione Skye shows up for a couple of minutes too.
Some shrooms or weed will help you get through the whole thing.
