Thanks for the feedback. And, wow. I've had better luck than it seems you have, but certainly still my share of deleted emails (including the model from your most recent SG shoot), but no biggie. Learn and grow. I get the same feeling about the site here, especially when hopefuls are all the time posting new threads about needing a photographer, but yeah, the layout makes it difficult short of blindley spamming away, which I'd rather not do.

A hopeful shootfest would be awesome, and I'd definitely help out with organizing and financing if need be. What was the money problem before? Models needing a place to stay? Studio/locations? Travel? I know Perr had trouble arranging a quality photographer early on because of a lack of portfolio and a lack of transportation. Drave could definitely be a big help, as could Elea if someone could get ahold of her. I still don't know if I can make either of the burlesque shows, but a before/after meet&greet could certainly open up the topic for discussion. Might be worth setting a goal for sometime next spring or early summer. Hell, if we can get some land, we could even do a SG hopeful equivalent to NINPAR. I could pull some strings with friends in NOVA, and although small, I've got 5 acres of woods right off 522.

Oh, and regarding my androgyny casting, I could definitely work with sedusa. Although nothing specific immediately comes to mind, she's got a face I can use. I'll have to message her as soon as I get a more concrete idea. I'd really like to shoot Lilly, but I followed the string of tags through your MM and found out she's a) in Boston, and B) not shooting currently.

Another option I just thought of could be comparing notebooks and seeing if any of our shoot ideas overlap enough to split cost and do a dual-shooter or back-to-back set.

Good call! I hadn't actually thought about the riverfront parks, since I was trying to stay near DC for this shoot. She's staying up there and my parents live up that way so I always have a place to launchpad from.

I went exploring the North Bank Trail a few weeks back on a Friday morning and only saw a handful of people, so that probably would be a good place to shoot off peak season. Was that where you shot sedusa?

Sounds like the only wedding I shot, and why I vowed never to do it again. I enjoy the art too much to let a day like that piss me off. Definite kudos to you for toughing through it.

I tried a couple different approaches for SGVA, but still no luck. AllieShamalie says you can join SGDC if you like, it's slightly more active than SGVA.

Also, good luck at the interview! Don't let another six hours of cockaholics interfere with that.

The wedding was terrible! Great location, weather was great, it shoulda been awesome, but it turned out to be a comedy of errors... Getting ready to post about it.
