During my chemo validation course today I found out my all time favorite patient has passed away.
She was one of the most amazing down to earth crazy ladies I have ever met and I am so blessed to have been able to care for her. I called the house when I got home and her daughter returned my phone call and filled me in on what happened. She was in boston for her treatment to get a bone marrow transplant and ended up going septic and dying on December 31st.
I'm so sad that I won't be seeing her lovely face wheel by on that stretcher anymore. She was everyones favorite patient but I was her favorite nurse. I had some of the best talks with her and she had some amazing insight and different ways of looking at things.
Rest in peace Linda. I am so glad to have met you and had you in my life.
I also just learned that one of my co-workers was just diagnosed with breast cancer and has to get both breasts removed. I just don't understand why such amazing people get such awful disgusting horrible illnesses.
I hope Regan has a speedy recovery and nothing but good news with Linda looking over her.
And now to more Chemo studying. FUCK YOU CANCER! I'm gonna do my best to kick your butt for all my loved ones you've affected!
