The whole "I'm giving up writing" thing I started a few weeks back is now officially over. Check out the poem below and tell me what you think. Try and guess what my favorite line is.
For Rachel--
I feel slightly ridiculous.
Wrting seems sort of meticulous.
But when it's for a special someone
It can really be quite fun!
This simple poem for a friend
Seems to somehow transcend
The bounds of three dimensions
And breaks a few normal conventions
While somehow retaining simplicity
Arriving at a state of felicity
For a dear friend of mine,
From writing about little ducks,
To eating Denny's breakfast deluxe.
From adventures without glorious jelly,
To rhyming this line with Machiavelli.
Our friendship has stood the test,
Not of time, nor not all the rest.
But, in fact, the simple temptation
Of finding a mate out of desperation.
I like how we turned out.
And what our friendship's all about.
