Today I’ll talk a little bit about one of the loves of my life, beer.
I was used to drink, but only regular ones, like lagers, but when I was 21 I went to Ireland, it’s impossible not to try every different beer at that magical place, Guinness and Smithwicks were my new love.
When I came back to Brazil I started to try every different kind that I saw, at the same time Brazil was starting to have new brands, IPA was getting famous around here.
Then, when I was 24 I went to Belgian, there was no way back, I went to all the biggest breweries around the country and it was the most amazing trip, Orval,Westvleteren, Cantillon.
So I decided to study and became a sommelier, my last beer trip was no Alberta an BC area in Canada, I love to know everything, new beers, new people, new flavors.
Now Brazil has a big market and our beer it’s fucking awesome, we love to use all the ingredients that this tropical country gave us, an example it’s a stout with açaí, IPA with jambu.
I don’t know how to choose a favorite brand anymore, I really love Guinness because it was my first love, but my favorite styles are Sours, Stouts and IPA’s, if you are coming to Brazil you must try Dogma, Dadiva, Bodebrown and Trilha.
