Every journal entry I write begins with Ive been busy
My schedule is often hectic, but Ive come to learn that I wouldnt have it any other way. I get bored all too quickly. Im still balancing my time between both galleries; one more than the other. I do love working in a gallery (and I work in two!), getting paid to talk about art. Ill be leading architectural tours around the building soon. Im a bit nervous about that since architecture is not my forte but Ill manage. I have a few quirky anecdotes about the building to bring into the talk. Ill also be involved in a few outside the gallery projects, the first being a project created my Mike Figgus its an interesting concept, one Ill be more at liberty to discuss next week.
On the artist front Im in the process of preparing for three exhibitions this year; one at the end of April, another in August and the third in October. Thankfully there is some in between to work on my ideas. I have several at the moment, two of which are polishing up what I already have and the other four are completely new to me. Ive been trying out different ways to use plaster, creating a harsh white minimalist object(?) I havent decided if its for me. I have two ideas based on an environment theme, one being using a collection of photos Ive taken from the canal filled with all kinds of rubbish and writing a short essay to accompany the piece about how important the canal was historically. The other is drawing the parasites found in the river that I am now surrounded by; it fits in with my overall thematic scheme.
I also have a large sculpture in the works. One that Im not entirely sure will be able to be reproduced based off a previous model, but well soon see. This would be for the exhibition in August, basically because its the only space viable.

Yes, depending on how much I like China we may be there 6 months or maybe longer. I still need to pay off those student loans! How're you doing with those?
