This summer has been weird at the old F4L. At around nine o'clock every single night hordes of Mexican families come in to go shopping. I don't get it. I'm talking the whole family. Mothers, Fathers, their kids, Grandma, Grandpa and assorted Aunts and Uncles all come in to buy sugary foods and produce. Their kids just start going apeshit running around the store. Kids always grab as high as they can reach so displays are always missing product that should be supporting the product that is on top of it. This makes for unstable displays. Fixing them and returning them to their former somewhat safe state is a full time job. An already wobbly Kool-Aid display partially collapsed tonight. The dispaly had written orders to be rebuilt with a dummy-box to make it more structurally sound a few days ago. Naturally the person in charge of display moves and rebuilds neglected to do so. Nice.
The problem is that at nine o'clock I'm trying to wrap everything up that I have to have done. Instead I'm having to go back and re-face or even re-fill product that I've already moved on from. Then there's the fact that there are a lot of bodies in the store. Bodies that ignore the beeping of the forklift and seem to move very slowly to begin with. So nothing gets done quickly from nine o'clock on.
On top of this all we're short handed on Utility Clerks. Thems my little minions that do what me wants.
Fun.
Not horrible by any means. I guess it just keeps the job interesting.
