Quite a bit has happened in the last few days. The three F4L stores changed ownership. Actually, they will change ownership on April 2nd. We will now work for PAQ, Inc. I guess they own 12 Times Markes in Hawaii, Nine F4L's, and Two Rancho San Miguel stores (?). We all had to go down and reapply for our jobs/accept their job offer on Sat-Mon. I got offered the position of "General Clerk" with a $.50 raise. YEA! Except for the fact that I have no idea what General Clerk means. I'm supposed to be a grocery floor manager. Um. Maybe I won't have to supervise anymore, hahah. In some ways that'd be a blessing.
Oh well. I'm soon to get benefits too. They're among the best benefits I've seen; Almost full coverage on the health and a good dental plan.
The funny thing is that none of PAQ's stores are union. It's fairly obvious that they're trying to push Local 1036 out of our store. Fuck the union. Some of the employees are die-hard union members though. Mainly the people who have been with them for 30 years. The majority of us though could care less about the union.
It shall be interesting to see how this all works out.
