Alas! No new set and no relaxing vacation for us. The short version of the story is: We managed to book our vacation for the week when the Windstorm of the Year blew in. Hotel lost power on Sunday night and didn't get it back. We left there on Tuesday, the first day the roads were clear, and because I-5 was closed due to flooding we had to take a two-hour detour to get to my parent's house when it should have taken us 20 minutes.
We're back home now, and safe, and we got a Solstice tree, so we're happy. We're just a little irked that this was the first time we were going to go on a nice romantic vacation with just the two of us... And we ended up stuck in a town with no power, no hot food and nothing to do.
We're going to try again in a couple months. The hotel was just BEAUTIFUL.
