Say hello to my new tat. Her name is Catrina, from the Mexican day of the dead festival. Because her name is Catrina, I had her decked out with Mardi Gras beads, and a hurricane earing. You know, for hurricane Katrina. And what she did to New Orleans. Jeesh, do I have to spell everything out?
She is a concept I have been working on for a while. After many sketches, Bostonbootgirl finally came up with the one I liked, basically as you see it. This sketch was then taken to Scott White at Altered State, a great shop in Lake Worth, Fl. Scott worked some changes and then jammed it into my right calf. The cactus is also a cover, on a shitty panther tat I got when I was 16.
My entire right lower leg is going to be one big day of the dead scene. Catrina here is just the start. Isn't she lovely?
