I'm sick of hearing women I know complain about their boyfriends or the male gender in general. Also, I'm noticing that the new "trend" for young women is to own at least one T-shirt, bumper sticker, or token of some sort, that says something like "Boys are stupid teehee" (with a little bunny on it or something like that). SO!
This girl of at least 28 comes into the shop this morning with a laptop. Not only is she completely unable to tell me anything about the problem she's having ("It like, it doesn't do....you know...things"), she's also wearing a shirt under her coat that has a picture of a factory titled "Stupid Factory". At the bottom of this picture it says "Where boys are made".
I said nothing.
So I'm seeing all this more and more. Posters in peoples homes, backgrounds on desktops....etc. I'm wondering, do these girls just pick this shit up out of the air? I mean the last trend with young women was the whole "I'm a bitch" or "Complete and total slut" and also "I'm a brat" written front and center on a shirt of some sort. And don't forget the bumper sticker extravaganza that came along with it. I know these girls don't mean it (well not all of them at least). They are just folowing a trend and think these things are cute and unusual.
So I say to you, women who think these things are trendy and make you an individual (whatever the fuck that means), some day a guy is going to be walking down the street wearing a shirt. On that shirt there will be a picture of the cutest puppy or kitten you could possibly imagine. You know, doing something totally adorable. You won't be able to resist looking at it. Then you read the tagline "Girls are cum dumpsters". Oops. That hurts. But it's fucking hilarious on my end to see your reaction.
The point I'm trying to make is that I'm sick of people pulling into these trends and thinking that they have absolutely no meaning whatsoever. If you walk around wearing a shirt that says "Bitch" or "Brat" or "Slut", I guarantee a lot of people might think you are one of those things, or desire to be one. If you think boys are stupid, then you're extra stupid because you're probably dating some assfuck. There are plenty of nice males on the planet. Find one (if you're straight of course). If you wear a shirt that says "It's all about me"...well good for you. Guess who's day I'm going to make as complicated as possible?
I just need to shut my mouth and let these things happen. I seem to be the only who actually gets annoyed by this. It's just getting to be too much. Trend after trend...on and on...of course these thing will never stop. I think the most annoying bit about some of this, is that these people have no idea what they are actually saying with their clothing. I refer back to my "cum dumpster" idea for a shirt. Putting such a straight forward statement on a shirt usually means you are trying to say something to everyone. And while I know I should just ignore it, I just can't. I've tried. If I see a girl wearing a shirt telling everyone that boys are stupid, I just want to stop them and say something like:
rockinsteve: "Hey how's it going?"
Girl: "Pretty good how about you?"
rockinsteve: "I'm OK. So let's discuss this boys being stupid idea on your shirt there"
Girl: "Ummm well it's just a shirt teehee"
rockinsteve: "Well, you're calling me stupid, I feel I need to defend myself to your slanderous statement. So let's talk"
Girl: "What the hell?"
rockinsteve: "YES!! What the hell indeed!"
Girl: "
" [walks away]
rockinsteve: "Yeah? Well historically we've got you beat! We've got Einstein, Hawking, Da Vinci and others. Where are you going?"
Girl: "You're crazy"
rockinsteve: "Your mom is crazy"
And that would be it. So I guess in a way I could have just proven her shirt to be true. or maybe I disproved it by saying something to her. Maybe she won't wear it in public again, I don't know. I can't believe these things bother me. Arggggh.
[all of the speling and grammar errors here have no bearing on my intelligence. I just suck at typing quickly]
