Hello all. Spent the weekend at my mom's. Not too eventful.
Saw Rocky Horror Picture Show in DC on Friday. Its the first showing in DC with a live cast for five years. And the first time I had seen the movie in a long, long time. The whole culture around the film, as well as the film itself, is more vulgar than I had remembered it, possibly more vulgar than it used to be. It was interesting to see the live show under the screen, which they did not have at the theater I saw it in years ago. But overall, the night, including the movie and the show and the audience participation, was just a fairly vulgar, decadent spectacle. Not funny, not engaging, just kinda nasty, and dirty. Oh, and did I say vulgar?
I know, it is what it is. Pointless to complain. And yes, I shoulda known better...
But hey, if you like to be in crowds of people shouting obscenities at movie screens, this is just the thing for ya.
Guacala!
