Oblique Strategies.
Its a deck of cards, subtitled, "Over one hundred worthwhile dilemmas." They were put together in 1975 by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt. These are the included instructions. "They can be used as a pack (a set of possibilities being continuously reviewed in the mind) or by drawing a single card from the shuffled pack when a dilemma occurs in a working situation. In this case the card is trusted even if its appropriateness is quite unclear. They are not final, as new ideas will present themselves, and others will become self-evident."
As a public service, I am starting an Oblique Strategies service. This may be updated daily or less often, until I don't feel like it anymore. How's that for commitment to service?
So, today's Oblique Strategies card, drawn from the deck at random, to help guide you thru yr day, says:
"Question the heroic approach."
Looks like I was already taking that advice...
