I just realized today that its been 9 months since the last time I've made any updates here. That's quite awhile! I don't want people to think that I'm some kind of SG sock puppet!
So here's what's been going on in my world. As of my last blog, I'd just accepted a new job with a new company and hadn't started yet. Its been about 8 months now and damn, its pretty nice! Granted it doesn't have the startup feel like my old job did, but working for a company that's been around and consistently growing since 1905 makes me feel pretty secure. The pay's not bad either, and I can work from home pretty much whenever I want, not too shabby.
I wish I had some more adventures and such to talk about, but its been kind of slow here adventure-wise, home ownership really kind of puts a damper on the extra money. The big adventure for a long time was driving from here (Minneapolis) all the way to Mahahual Mexico (about 4 hours south of cancun) with a buddy of mine who winters over there. That's not happening so much anymore, so I've been working on creating my own adventures. Work definitely helps with that, we have offices in 75 countries, and hopefully over time I'll get to go to most of them. Our corporate headquarters is in Copenhagen Denmark, so hopefully once or twice a year I'll get to go there and adventure around in europe for awhile.
I haven't really written anything in a long time, and in re-reading this I can definitely see that I'm out of practice. I'm going to have to write in here more often (also, if I do it more often, I'll be able to include more detail, and get more into the crazy cast of characters that I hang around with). I'll just consider this practice for now, and so folks don't think that I"m some sort of a bot.
Also, on tuesday Kaya cut her paw really bad on something in the back yard that I haven't been able to figure out, so I had to take her to the emergency vet to get stitched up. She's been good about her bandage though, so no cone necessary, and it would have made me way too sad to put it on her and see how sad she was. She kind of seems to like the socks I put over the bandage and doesn't chew at them, so I'm hoping she'll be healed up and and I wont' have to tie a bag around her leg when she goes outside. Here's a picture of her with her fasionable sock:
She's only a little sad!
