Today is the forth anniversery of the day that 15 chicks entered my life and changed it forever.
I dearly miss Miss Gazzaries
I lost her last year. She was the most amazing creature I have ever met.
I remember how I rush to the post office since her and her sisters & brothers showed up a day early. You should of seen me making them open the post office up again so I could get them. They were only 1 day old and didn't want them to stay to have to stay there all night after being shipped from Texas yesterday.
There were only supposed to be 6 of these fancy white chicks but when I opened the little box that couldn't fit a pair of shoes, there were 9 and 6 larger brownish ones. Apon further inspection of the packing label it appears that they were roosters for warmth.
Now understand this was when I was a meat 3 meals a day, go hunting any time I could, enjoying the top of the food chain loving kind of guy. But even I thought using live animals as packing material was barbarian.
It didn't take me more than a week to realize that these guys were more than just cute but had distinc personalities and really did show affection. That's when I blew everyone I now minds but giving up meat right there and never looked back. Unfortunatly the roosters seemed to be the nicest most loving but they was no way we could keep them in my Hollywood apt. Fortunatly we found a place to put them like Gentle Barn. Yoou can read about my boys
Finbar and Ambros.
I still have one the girls. This is Desdemona.
She's kind of bratty but I love her so.
Wait, you must be asking youselves. I though the brown ones were supposed to be roosters. Well Desi must of saw there was a box heading for Hollywood and snuck in. I'm glad she did.
Sorry for the long post. I haven't forgot about the star of this little journal. Here's the Tilly.

I miss my chickens. I had one that always seemed to be getting itself into dangerous situations. I had to nurse that hen back to life so many times.
