I have several relatives that work in law enforcement (city, state, and federal). I also attended a community college (before I went to a university) as a criminal justice student. So while I do not work in law enforcement I think I have at least an understanding of it and some insights to certain things as seen through my relatives' eyes.
I think it's great that law enforcement officers are held to higher standards than an average citizen, but I think people just take it too far. Posting the social security numbers, home addresses, etc. of people that work in law enforcement is not only, in my opinion, a violation of their privacy, but also dangerous for them AND their families! Furthermore I think what they do in off-duty in their private lives should be off-limits (unless they commit a crime or something.)
So now the wifey and I have started developing code words for certain situations... things that I feel if we lived in a properly behaved society we would not have to do.......
