Have you ever been startled so badly that you thought your heart was going to stop? I have...at approximately 5:30 this morning. I was sleeping quite peacefully, mind you. Okay, first, to understand why this was funny and startling and all that, you should know this...we are staying in the cellar of our brother's house in Georgia. It's not glamourous at all...dust, cockroaches, spiders, mold...everything you don't want to live with, we live with. As I've said, we rescued a kitty since we've been here and he is staying in the cellar with us. There is another stray kitty outside, Socks, who is super sweet...he's snuggly and friendly and wants desperately to be rescued, too! So he likes to come and hang out and sit on the window sills of the cellar and watch Maynard eat and play and such. (Don't worry, we still feed Socks and play with him, too!) Well, Socks found a way into the cellar...
As I said, we were sleeping very peacefully when were abruptly stirred from our sleep with a loud MMMMRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUWWWWWW!!! It sounded like a cat was dying! We shot out of the bed, completely confused and dazed. My fiance was so startled he was shouting, "Woah, woah, woah!" Then we were shouting, "Get the lights!", "Some animal just jumped out the window!", "Where's Maynard?!"
Needless to say, Maynard was just starteld by Socks invading his space...
I guess that's one way to start the day!
