An update on the week that was...
Well lads n' lasses, the latter half of last week was an interesting one and no mistake. Wednesday started with an email from the ex-girlfriend. A little background: I broke up with her late last fall, but she's a stage 5 clinger and has been cyber stalking me ever since. I won't go into the long details, but I still get the odd facebook friend request and friends and family telling me she's still trying to get indirect info on me through them. Why they don't de-friend her, I don't know... In any case, I get to work to find she's sent me an email there inviting me to go out with her that night on a party cruise, here in Kelowna. She lives in Burnaby. That's 3.5 hours away. First thought, is "Oh, fuck, she's in town." Next thought is to do what I always do: ignore. The band that performs on this boat is made up of casual friends of mine. The guy on the left below is the leader (and yes that's me in the middle). His name is Floyd.

Another one, Alfie, actually introduced me to my ex-wife. But I don't hold it against him. This is side info that will become semi-important later.
So after work, my roommate, Evan, takes me out "for a few beers" for my birthday, which some of you will know was Thursday, but he wasn't available for Thursday. We start out in a nice pub downtown Kelowna, where the beer is good, and the scenery better. But being the horn dogs that we are, at midnight we end up at one of the local rippers. There we run into: Floyd (the guy in the picture above), and Evan's cousin. From Floyd, I find out that the ex is in the bar, upstairs, with Alfie (the guy that intro'd me to my ex-wife) and that he has set them up with each other. The thoughts that go though my drunken head in order:
1) SHE'S HERE!! RUNNNNN!!!!!
2) Thank god! If she gets with Alfie, maybe she'll leave me alone.
3) Poor Alfie.
4) There gonna fuck (a surprise twinge of jealousy...)
The results:
1) Evan fucks off upstairs with his cousin, where I refuse to go for lack of desire of seeing the ex.
2) I spend the next hour dodging the ex, looking for Evan.
3) I grab a cab home alone, cause I never did find Evan...@#!$%!!!
So that was Wednesday. Thursday was spend hung over at work, getting another facebook friend request from the ex-gf, looking forward to seeing the Geezers at topless Thursday chat. This promised to be extra special because of my birthday and I was promised lots of nudity. I got fairly drunk and seem to remember flashing my balls...
...hmm...
Friday was to be another hung over day at work, followed by the 1:20 drive to my mom's in Merritt. We had a quiet dinner with my cousin and his lady and her daughter. They had made a similar journey to my mom's from Kamloops. They were there for the dual purpose of my Birthday, and my mom is paying them to drywall her basement. The evening was quiet until they got the call from their neighbor, saying that their home had been placed on evacuation order due to a nearby fire. So midnight they went home to see if they'd be let back in long enough to save their 2 cats, 1 gekko and 1 dragon. Don't ask me what kind of dragon, I'm not a lizard guy, but he's cool as hell and a complete suck. Apparently he snuggles with the cats... I stayed up talking to NeNe online, til they got home.
Saturday was spent seeding mom's "new" lawn, which would be a nice acre, along with other chores, such as helping my cousin unload the drywall. Sunday I came home with the bike I inherited from my dad. I took it in yesterday for a complete overhaul. It's a 4 year old entry level Kona, that's been ridden once or twice, so yesterday I took it in for a complete overhaul. Pick it up tomorrow.
And finally we come to today. Another fb request from the ex-gf. My TV is finally home from the shop!! No more squinting at the old low def 32" tube. Now we watch real TV on a real TV. Actually, I missed watching movies on it more than anything else. I can watch them on the iMac, which has a great screen, but no surround sound, and I have to sit on a chair, not lounge on a couch... cost: $514 and change
Well, that's all folks. That should satisfy you blog-hogs for now. It's bloody long enough.
