Good News/Bad News today.
Bad news: Had 4 tix to The Tragically Hip, and had 3 cancellations on Thursday and couldn't get rid of them - had to go on my own. Good news: the show was every bit as good as I thought it would be! I've managed to post a couple of pics, the rest won't go. Dunno why, as they came from my iPhone, with no settings changed (don't think you can...) from pic to pic. Will keep trying.
More bad news. I'm stuck here tonight. I took my car in for service yesterday and asked them to look at my brakes; they seemed a little soft. Turns out there was a good reason - the rear brakes had seized open! So I've been operating on front brakes alone, and the increased load on them, has overheated the rotors and killed the pads. I need all new hardware in the back. The front rotors need to be re-machined and the pads replaced. Total cost: $1100! (By a strange coincidence my mom's e-brake seized up Thursday, and she had it put on a flat deck wrecker to get it to the mech - yesterday, within an hour of my finding out, she's told her whole breaking system is fucked, and needs to be replaced: $2500. Weird) So, I'm not trusting my car's brakes in a mountain pass today. More good news: A buddy's band is at a bar nearby, so I'll get to sing with him tonight. And I've made some new friends in the Geezer Group's chat room, so I'll get to chat with them.
Keep bangin' the rocks together...
